Our story
2,500 years of Sri Lankan gem tradition
Sri Lanka's gem gravel — locally called illam — has been mined for over 2,500 years around the town of Ratnapura, whose name literally means "City of Gems." Marco Polo wrote of the island's rubies in the 13th century, and the tradition never stopped: today Sri Lanka remains one of the world's most important sources of sapphires, including the deep cornflower-blue stones gemologists still call "Ceylon Blue."
Our atelier works directly with licensed pit miners and independent cutters in Ratnapura and Elahera, so every stone we set carries a clear chain of origin. We cut, certify and set in-house — from rough stone to a finished ring — rather than buying pre-set pieces wholesale.

Certified Origin
Every stone above 1 carat ships with independent gemological certification confirming natural origin and treatment status.

In-House Cutting
Rough stones are hand-cut and polished by our own lapidaries, preserving more carat weight than mass-market recutting.

Bespoke Setting
Choose a stone, then work with our jewelers on a custom setting — gold, platinum or traditional Kandyan silverwork.

Export Documentation
We handle all National Gem and Jewellery Authority export paperwork, so your purchase clears customs without delay.
