Terms of Use

1. About these terms

Veloura Ceylon Travels (“Veloura”, “we”, “us”) is a travel brand of LankaNova Digital Solutions, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

These terms apply to velouraceylon.lankanova.online and the Veloura Ceylon mobile app (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. Bookings are also covered by our Booking Terms and Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Contracts made through the Service are formed electronically and are valid under the Electronic Transactions Act, No. 19 of 2006 (as amended).

2. Your account

• You must be 18 or over to create an account or make a booking.
• You sign in with Google (Apple sign-in is coming soon). Keep that account secure — activity on your Veloura account is treated as yours.
• Give us accurate details. We may suspend accounts that are used fraudulently or break these terms.
• You can delete your account at any time — see Delete your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• try to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or our systems, or interfere with their working — acts that may also be offences under the Computer Crimes Act, No. 24 of 2007;
• scrape, copy or resell our content, prices or itineraries in bulk;
• send false enquiries or bookings, or impersonate anyone;
• upload anything unlawful, harmful or that infringes someone else’s rights.

4. Our content

Text, itineraries, photographs, logos and design on the Service belong to us or our licensors and are protected by the Intellectual Property Act, No. 36 of 2003. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial use. Any other use needs our written permission.

Descriptions, maps, travel times and photographs are given in good faith as a guide. Places, opening times, wildlife sightings and weather change, and are outside our control.

5. Prices and availability

Prices are shown in US dollars and are per person unless stated. A price or itinerary shown on the Service is an invitation to book, not a guaranteed offer; a booking is only confirmed when we confirm it in writing (email, WhatsApp or in your account). If we show a price in obvious error we may correct it before confirming.

6. Gems, jewellery and wood carving

Our gem and wood-carving pages introduce heritage partners. Any purchase is a separate agreement made at the time of sale, with its own price, certificate and export documents. Export of gems from Sri Lanka is subject to the rules of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority, and import duties in your country are your responsibility.

7. Limits of our responsibility

The Service is provided “as is”. We work to keep it available and accurate but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or loss of data arising from use of the Service, and our total liability to you in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the booking concerned.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

8. Links to other sites

Links to third-party sites (for example Google Maps, PayHere or WhatsApp) are for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

If something goes wrong, please tell us first — most problems can be put right quickly. If a dispute cannot be settled by discussion within 30 days, it may be referred to mediation in Colombo, and failing that, the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka will have exclusive jurisdiction.

Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, No. 9 of 2003, or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will post the new version here with its date. The version in force when you make a booking applies to that booking.
